2017: annual updates

Every year brings its own amendments into IP law practice. IP Offices strive to improve their IP laws and introduce new services to enhance the IP environment in their country. IP-Coster is committed to providing our clients with the most up-to-date information and actual quotes. In this regard we constantly monitor and take into consideration all possible changes in the IP legislations including changes in official fees.

IP Offices annually revise fees, usually resulting in an increase due to a variety of factors. IP-Coster has already informed you revised official fees in the Philippines, Colombia, Belarus, and the Eurasian Patent Organisation (EAPO). Additionally, Vietnam has also increased their official fees. In contrast, the Israeli Patent and Trademark Office has reduced nearly all fees by 1%, and it is already the third year the official fees are decreased after the increase in 2014. Please note that the US will also introduce revised trademark fees taking effect on January 14, 2017 which we will advise you of more detail shortly.

Further, international classifications have also been upgraded. The 11th Edition of the Nice Classification and the 11th Edition of the Locarno Classification, and a revised version of the International Patent Classification are in force as of January 1, 2017. All the international IP classifications are available on the WIPO website.

Bearing these changes in mind, we welcome you to visit IP-Coster’s quotation system and access actual and accurate quotes for IP registration in the jurisdictions of your interest.
