Validation of European Patent in Ireland
from
213.00
Detailed information related to the European Patent.
In Ireland, the validation and publication of European patents are streamlined due to the country’s participation in the European Patent Convention (EPC) and the London Agreement.
No validation request or translation of the patent specification is required.

Representation by a patent attorney
No representation by an Irish registered attorney is required. However, foreign applicants are recommended to obtain a local address for service.
Upon grant by the European Patent Office (EPO), the patent is published in the European Patent Bulletin. The IPOI then records the patent in its national register, making it publicly accessible.
Annual fees for European patents validated in Ireland are due from the 3rd year and should be paid on or before the last day of the month containing the anniversary of the filing date.
The fees associated with validation of a European patent in Ireland are available in the fee calculator.
