Colombia: slight increase in official fees

On January 1, 2017, the Colombian IP Office will implement new fees for registration of patents, utility models, designs and trademarks along with fees for post-registration protection.

In view of the coming changes, the fee for filing a patent application will be raised from 80,000 COP to 86,000 COP and the fee for filing a utility model application will constitute 75,000 COP instead of 70,000 COP. Additionally, the fee for filing a request for design registration will increase to 704,000 COP and filing a trademark application will cost 1,021,000 COP. The rest of the fees (fees for examination, amendments, annual fees, etc.) will also undergo slight increase, namely about 7% on average.

As soon as the new official fee schedule enters into force, we will duly update our system. In the meantime, take the chance to file your IP applications in Colombia before January 1, 2017 and enjoy current official fees.  Please visit our quotation system to get an actual quote.
