India: E-filing system for design applications

According to the Public Notice of the Controller of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks as of March 9, 2015 the e-filing system for design applications has been created in order to simplify an access and create paperless environment in all Indian Patent Office locations (Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Chennai). E-filing system for patents, trademarks and geographical indications has been implemented earlier. All applicants have the opportunity to file the design applications using the official portal of The Controller of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks at www.ipindia.gov.in or www.ipindia.nic.in.

The electronic filing system also includes possibility of online payments. Besides, users can use their digital signatures to log in and authentication into the e-filing system that provides secure data delivery and customer identification.
