Venezuela: significant fee increase

On March 1, 2017, the Venezuelan tax unit increased from 177 VEF (17.7 USD) to 300 VEF (30 USD). As a result, this was followed by significant increase in patent and trademark official fees.

Thus, the fee for change of name or address constitutes 600 USD. The fee for recordal of assignment and merger has been increased to 3000 USD. The grant fee has been raised to 1950 USD. Please note that the above fees apply both to patents and trademarks. The trademark renewal fee now constitutes 3000 USD while patent annual fees start at the rate of 3000 USD with further increase by 3000 USD per year.
