Die Erfindung betrifft einen Lagerring (1, 1 ') eines Wälzlagers (8) oder Gleitlagers (9), umfassend einen metallischen Ringkörper (2) und eine zumindest am Außenumfang oder zumindest am Innenumfang des Ringkörpers (2) angeordnete, durch thermisches Spritzen offen-porig ausgebildete Keramikschicht (5) enthaltend ein Porenvolumen im Bereich von 2 Vol.-% bis kleiner als 10 Vol.-%, wobei ein offener Porenraum der Keramikschicht (5) mit einem Kunststoffmaterial (6) verfallt ist, das mindestens ein polymeres Bindemittel, mindestens einen Reaktivverdünner, mindestens einen Fotoinitiator und mindestens einen Härter umfasst und zumindest teilweise mittels UV-Strahlung ausgehärtet ist, wobei die Keramikschicht (5) und das ausgehärtete Kunststoffmaterial (6) eine elektrisch isolierende Beschichtung (4) ausbilden. Die Erfindung betrifft weiterhin ein Verfahren zur Herstellung des Lagerrings (1, 1 ') und ein Wälzoder Gleitlager (8, 9) mit einem solchen Lagerring (1, 1 ').
