Verfahren zum Erzeugen einer Umgebungsansicht (21) der Umgebung eines Fahrzeugs (1), wobei die Umgebungsansicht (21) aus wenigstens einem Kamerabild (12) wenigstens einer zumindest einen Teilbereich der Umgebung erfassenden Kamera (3) des Fahrzeugs (1) sowie aus wenigstens einem Grafikelement (20) erzeugt wird, wobei das Grafikelement (20) einem voraussichtlichen Fahrmanöver des Fahrzeugs (1) zugeordnet ist und dem Kamerabild (12) zur Erzeugung der Umgebungsansicht (21) überlagert wird, wobei eine Größe und/oder eine Form des Grafikelements (20) in Abhängigkeit einer Hindernisinformation, welche eine Position wenigstens eines in dem wenigstens einen Kamerabild zumindest teilweise dargestellten Hindernisses (13) in der Umgebung des Fahrzeugs (1) beschreibt, derart eingestellt wird, dass das dem Kamerabild (12) überlagerte Grafikelement (20) in der Umgebungsansicht (21) nicht mit der Darstellung des Hindernisses (13) überlappt.
