Urease inhibitor composition comprising combinations of urease inhibitors and method for inhibiting the hydrolysis of urea in soil. Some aspects include a combination of pyroglutamic acid (pGlu), and 2-nitrophenyl phosphoric triamide (2-NPT) molecules.
